Measuring Mass

In Science we were studying matter, and the mass of different types of matter.  We created different mixtures and solutions, and studied their masses as individual ingredients, and then as a complete mixture.  The kids had a great time using the balance scales and the weights!

Birthdays in 5R
When it is your birthday in our class, we dress you up for the occasion!  Here is Grace in her birthday outfit!

 Earth Day!

The Grade 5s were out and about on Earth Day, travelling the neighbourhood and picking up garbage throughout the neighbouring streets, as well as the school yard.  We filled two huge bags!
Upon our return, we watched a video on Earth Day, and then finished up our afternoon creating our own Earth Day posters.  Save the Earth!

The Grade 7s put on a beautiful Mary Mass today... the presentation of prayer was so solemn and reverent, yet the choir was energetic, upbeat, and fun!  They sang songs from Sister Act, and after listening no one could resist "following Him."  Thanks to Mrs. Kane and Miss Albini and all of their students!  Well done!

Monday, May 4th

Today began with a student telling me, "Miss, may the fourth be with you."  BAHAHAHA!  I knew I was guaranteed to have a good day.
As I sit here, I still pinch myself...I am so lucky to be with these kids.  They make me laugh every day.  Today, one of the students showed up with a shirt that read "This is What Awesome Looks Like."  Hilarious!  I love them all like my own.
